1. See

The sounds of thunder crashing and water splashing echoed upon the bright blue sky. With steps as agile as a ninja, Isaac rocketed left and right and left again. Sharp predatory eyes were aimed at Dexter. As he rapidly approached his sparring partner, the Samurott inhaled sharply and released a powerful gust of Hydro Cannon.

Unfortunately, before the maniacal whirlpool could even touch Dexter, the Zebstrika easily galloped up in the air, avoiding the attack as it sliced the ground beneath him.

As their training session was in motion, one Pokémon watched from afar. Boredom seemed to strike her face as first. But as her beautiful sunshine eyes set on Isaac, that boredom was slowly replaced by awe.

‘Huh…’ That faint slip of air breathed from her mouth. Propping her chin in her left frond, she continued watching the males fight – continued watching him fight.

2. Nag

‘You really need to be careful next time.’ Lillil grumbled grumpily as she wiped the dry blood off his right foreleg. Isaac didn’t say a single word, instead had his head turned and lips pulled to an annoyed frown.

To know that the male was blatantly ignoring her like the usual, it pissed her off. ‘Hey!’ Throwing the wet cloth by her side, Lillil quickly pressed Isaac’s cheeks together and pulled him so that he faced her. ‘Are you even listening to me?’

Isaac, shocked by her actions and the suddenly minimal distance between them, only blinked like a fool before angrily shaking his head from her grasp. ‘Will you stop nagging?’ he barked angrily, white set of teeth flashing right before her very eyes.

He shouldn’t be that surprised when she didn’t even flinch at his expression. ‘I’ll stop nagging when you stop being reckless during battles!’

3. Awe

‘Hey Isaac?’

‘Hmm-’ Upon hearing his name being called, Isaac turned his head to the side, only to widen his eyes at a certain Lilligant that was wrapped in a cape of colourful petals.

‘What do you think?’ she asked happily, a joyful smile adorably curving her mouth. Gripping the cape closer to her face, Lillil elegantly twirled in front of Isaac and gracefully stopped with one frond holding her hip. ‘I made this myself. It took me two days but it was worth every second.’ A proud huff escaped her mouth as she spoke. Cocking her head upwards in a slightly arrogant manner, Lillil smiled wider. ‘It’s so beautiful if I do say so myself.’

While the Lilligant showed off her masterpiece, Isaac only sat there in silence, gawking at the female with his heart violently pounding inside his chest.

Wow. That was the only word that occupied his brain. The bright colours of blue, red, violet, and yellow were stitched perfectly and worn on the pretty female. It snugged around her shoulders. The other end draped behind her little feet, tracing the green grass where she stood. He blinked once, twice, then actually stopped blinking for almost 10 seconds as awe held him still.

The sound of his heartbeat intensified as his vision froze at the breathtakingly beautiful creature that was her.

‘…Isaac…’

Her voice felt like a loud bell that awakened him from his static posture. Quickly he blinked again; this time its motion was quite faster than usual. Dizziness then swirled in his brain, making him shake his head a few times before gawking forward.

He only saw her.

‘Earth to Isaac.’ Lillil waved her frond in front of his face. Her smile now turned to an annoyed pout, she held her hips again and tapped her foot impatiently. ‘I’ve been calling your name for minutes now. It’s really irritating, you know.’ She blew a grunt, a sound that Isaac knew well enough; she was sulking.

‘R-Right.’ He coughed lightly, eyes averted and a tiny frown formed. ‘Sorry…’

Her radiant eyes cast on him, and that pout twitched to a smile. ‘Apology accepted.’ Once again her head cocked upwards, one that flashed such familiar cockiness. ‘Besides, I know you’re speechless because of my fabulous design.’ Once again she gave a lovely twirl – silently mesmerizing the Samurott before her.

However, Isaac knew better than to admit that out loud. ‘Whatever.’ Grumbling sourly, he turned his head and placed his chin on the back of his paws. Hints of red heated in his cheeks, and Isaac desperately wished that Lillil didn’t notice it.

Luckily, she didn’t.

Unluckily, it was because she was now pissed off by his bland respond. ‘Don’t “whatever” me!’
