Tug-of-War

  “N, what are you doing now?” Her eyes lazily looked at the tall man sitting beside her. One hand still clutching the game console, White only let her right hand being held by him. Lips pursed to a tiny, confused pout, she watched as N brought his left hand up and pressed his palm against hers.

  “Nothing much.” He chuckled softly, tints of red spiraling in his cheeks. “I just felt like doing this.” Again N laughed as he scooted closer. “What are you doing?” Legs now crossed, he craned his neck slightly to get a good look of the game she was playing.

  White only shrugged; honestly, she herself could feel her cheeks growing warm by the close distance. “I’m cooking.” Blatantly she answered, head turned to face him and left hand lazily waving the console. “What do you think I’m doing, N?”

  This time, a laugh of her own rolled off her tongue to see him pout like a child.

  “Can I watch?” That pout broke back to a wide smile though. Without waiting for a reply, he wrapped his left arm around her waist and pulled the surprise brunette closer.

  Well, it was safe to say that the faint shade just darkened. “Fine.” Head dropped down to avoid his gaze, White trailed her eyes at her right hand. “I need my other hand to play though.” Slowly she mumbled, then groaned mentally once she saw his grasp tighten around her fingers.

  “You don’t need your other hand to play.” Casually he gave an excuse, one that held no sense whatsoever.

  This time, White did look up at him. “N don’t be such a baby.” Swiftly yet gently she tugged her right hand, in which the action only made him tug back.

  The little game of tug-of-war lasted for a few seconds. And in those matter of seconds, the next thing White knew, they were both now playfully wrestling on the sofa with her hand still neatly grasped by him.
